What Kesef is

An app to record and understand your expenses and income, and to split expenses with other people. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use it on your devices.

You may not resell the app, rent it, reverse engineer it, or use it for anything unlawful or to damage the service.

Kesef is not financial advice

This matters more than any other clause: Kesef is a recording and visualisation tool, not an adviser. Insights, projections and currency conversions are estimates calculated from what you entered, using third-party rates that may be out of date or wrong.

Do not make investment, credit or tax decisions based only on what the app shows. For that, talk to a professional.

Your data is yours

Everything you enter into Kesef belongs to you. We claim no ownership over it, and you can export it whenever you want in JSON or CSV, free and without a subscription.

You are also responsible for your backups. Kesef offers export and, if you sign in, sync — but a lost phone with no backup and no account is a lost history.

Account

The account is optional: it exists for syncing across devices and for groups. It is created with Apple or Google, so credentials are handled by that platform and not by us.

You are responsible for what happens from your account. You can delete it from within the app at any time.

Shared groups

By creating or joining a group, you accept that that group's expenses, splits and settlements are visible to its members, and that they can edit them. That is how splitting expenses between several people works.

The balances Kesef calculates are a calculation, not a legal obligation or a payment method. The app does not move money: who pays whom, and how, is between you.

Do not invite someone to a group who does not want to be in it, and do not enter third-party data you have no right to share.

Free plan and Kesef Pro

Kesef can be used for free. The free plan shows ads and caps some features: up to 3 tags, 3 budgets and 3 active recurring transactions.

Kesef Pro is a subscription that removes ads, lifts those caps, and adds detailed insights and Excel export. Recording transactions, using groups and syncing are on the free plan and are not capped.

Billing is handled by the App Store or Google Play using your account's payment method; we never see your card details. The subscription terms are:

• It renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel it at any time after purchase from your account settings: on iOS, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play → Payments and subscriptions.
• If a free trial is offered and you buy the subscription before it ends, the unused portion is forfeited.

If we change the price, we will tell you before it applies to your renewal.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by the store that charged you — Apple or Google — and are subject to its policy. We cannot issue refunds directly for a purchase made through the App Store or Google Play.

Availability and changes

We do our best to keep Kesef available and working well, but we do not guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features.

If we discontinue a feature you were paying for, or the service as a whole, we will give you reasonable notice and time to export your data.

Third-party services

Kesef relies on external providers to work (they are listed in the privacy policy). We are not responsible for their failures or outages, though we choose carefully and will tell you if any of them changes.

Liability

The app is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, loss of profits, or loss of data arising from use of the app.

None of this limits liabilities that the law does not allow to be limited, nor any rights you have as a consumer.

Termination

You can stop using Kesef whenever you want, by deleting your account or uninstalling the app. We may suspend access for anyone using the service to damage it or for something unlawful.

Intellectual property

The app, its design, its branding and its content are ours and are protected by the applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, redistribute or reverse engineer it except to the extent the law expressly allows you to.

This does not cover what you enter: that data is yours. See “Your data is yours”.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic, without prejudice to any consumer rights granted to you by the law of your country of residence.

Apple EULA

If you use Kesef on iOS, in addition to these terms you also agree to Apple's standard end user licence agreement, unless we provide our own:

Changes to these terms

If we update them, we change the date above and announce it inside the app when the change is material. Continuing to use Kesef after that means you accept them.
