A good part of the month is decided before it starts: rent, electricity, gas, your phone plan, subscriptions, health insurance. Logging them by hand every month is the quickest way to stop using an expense app. In Kesef you log them once, with their frequency, and they're added on their own every time the date comes round. Same with your salary.
Once, with its frequency
When you log an expense or income, you choose whether it repeats: daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. If it has an end (a lease, a subscription you'll cancel), you give it an end date and it stops being added. From then on Kesef adds it on each date, with the same amount, category and payment method.
For subscriptions there's a shortcut: in Recurring transactions, Quick add shows the most common ones (Netflix, Spotify, YouTube, Disney+, iCloud, ChatGPT and others, plus Argentine utilities, phone plans and health insurance when you log in pesos). Tap one, enter the amount and category, and it's set up as monthly, with its logo.
Added on their own, on your phone
Recurring items aren't a reminder for you to log them: the transaction is created on its own. The app does it on your phone, when you open it or come back to it, so if a payment is due on the 1st and you open Kesef on the 3rd, that day you'll see it logged with its date of the 1st.
Pause, edit or end
They all live in Recurring transactions, split into Active and Paused, with the date of the next one. Swipe one to pause it (you moved, you stopped the gym for two months) and resume it when it's back. If the amount changes, edit it and the change applies to the ones ahead. And if it's over, delete it.
What's coming, on the calendar
Recurring items show up ahead on the Activity calendar, marked as estimated, so you can see how much of the month is already committed. And the day before each one, at 10 a.m., you get a reminder with the amount.
- Payment calendar: what you spent and what's coming, day by dayThe calendar of what you spent and what's coming, with a reminder the day before.
- Credit card instalments, spread across the monthsInstalment purchases: a recurring item with an end date, which Kesef sets up for you.
- Recurring expenses: half your month can be logged onceWhat's worth logging as recurring, and what to review every three months.
In groups too
In a group, a shared expense can repeat too (weekly, monthly or yearly): the rent on the flat you share, the home internet plan. Any member's phone adds it and it's split like the rest of the group's expenses, without duplicates even if several people open the app on the same day.
It's free
Recurring expenses and income are on the free plan, with no cap, as are groups and sync across devices.
