Each guide takes a topic from start to finish: what to do first, what next, which mistakes are most common, and which posts and calculators on the site help with each step. They're written for Argentina and Latin America, with inflation, the dollar and instalments in the picture, and without recommending any financial product: they're for understanding, not for selling.
The guides
- Get your finances in orderHow to get your personal finances in order, step by stepSix steps in order to sort out your money: log 30 days, categories, a budget, an emergency fund, debts and goals. No spreadsheet required and no products.
- Start savingHow to start saving in Argentina, with inflation and the dollar in the pictureHow to save when money loses value: set aside first, emergency fund, named goals and which currency to think in. Method, not products.
- Credit card and instalmentsHow to use a credit card without getting into debtClosing vs due date, minimum vs full payment and interest-free instalments: what to understand about the card to make it work for you. With a calculator.
How they're written
- With the direct answer at the top: if you came with a question, the answer is in the first paragraph.
- With a visible author and review date. If something changed, it's corrected and the date updated.
- Without recommending investments or products. When a guide touches rates, the dollar or instruments, it's to explain how they work, with a source, and it carries its disclaimer.
- Linking what already exists: the blog posts that develop each step and the calculators that do the maths.
Frequently asked questions
Do the guides work outside Argentina?
The steps do: logging, categorising, budgeting, building an emergency fund, getting out of debt. What's specific to Argentina (high inflation, instalments, the dollar) is marked as such, and the blog's country posts cover Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Spain, Uruguay and Peru.
Do I need Kesef to follow the guides?
No. Every guide works with a spreadsheet or a notebook. At the end of each one there's a "This in Kesef" block with the feature that handles that step, for anyone who'd rather the app did it on its own.
Will more guides be added?
Yes. Next in the plan: building a budget, splitting expenses with others and investing from scratch (educational only). They show up on this page when published.
